Our guidance is generally that level 4 is aimed facilities managers with a few years’ operational management experience whilst level 5 is aimed at professionals in middle to senior management positions, with experience in managing large FM teams and complex functions. As opposed to level 4’s operational level focus, level 5 dwells on tactical and strategic facilities management and whilst level 4 assessments mainly require you to explain FM concepts and processes, level 5 will require you to use recognised business models to ‘analyse’ and ‘evaluate’ them in detail.
